Homework

Before she had got dressed Ella made a birthday card for Dylan, whose party in the woods it is tomorrow. Then we all went swimming, which was a lot more tiring for me than if I was swimming on my own. A full aerobic workout with them.

After lunch Mr C helped Nathaniel build his Lego police helicopter, while Ella and I did her homework. She had to write sentences with when, about and off in them.

She wrote “when will it be the Christmas holidays?”, “I’m learning about explorers” and “my brother fell off his bike”. She read her book quickly, and read me a normal book too. She also read Berghaus on my fleece, and from the front of the travel Guardian, “20 best hotels in Europe”, so after an early struggle with reading, she seems to be getting the hang of it - unlike her mum at that age.

Mr C has taken out to climb their favourite tree in the wood before it gets dark, though it is still raining.
