A little late sunshine

... helped open the flowers of Crocus stridii, only described as a species in the last few years.  My three corms were a gift from a friend at Gothenburg Botanic Garden where Arne Strid, for whom the plant is named, was Director between 2001 and 2008.  He was an expert on the flora of Greece so it's appropriate that this plant comes from Thessalonikos.  It's extremely rare, known only from a very small area but not difficult in cultivation, increasing well enough to be slowly spread around amongst crocus enthusiasts.

A productive day.  DLA form and Music funding award progressing well, even managed an hour of tidying and cleaning in Jamie's room ..... just scraped the surface really but at least we found a bit more floor :-)
