quilt

one of my challenges for 2018 is to make a quilt. I've not yet decided how big it will be and I'm not aiming to have it finished by the end of the year - it can be an ongoing project. I was fortunate to have been given a big bag of interesting material and decided to make it by hand so that it was portable and to piece the hexagons randomly to make it easier. I'm making "daisies" of seven hexagons and just now I'm on my 3rd - the project was interrupted by my going away for a week. 

Today I was back at work. The Whitesands was closed to traffic as the Nith is flooded, and a lot of the fields upstream are under water, too. (see extra).
