Day Four
Awesome!
This is a quick snap of The Boy polishing his cycling club trophies won last year - to be returned to the committee tonight in readiness for the next prize presentation in March. The cups were awarded for fastest times for 10, 25 & 50 mile time trials plus the club hill climb.
Today was a gentle sort of day, with plenty more domestic-housework-tasks that are still a bit of a novelty after being in continuous employment since I was in my late teens.
I did spend a couple of hours phoning around trying to arrange "a little man" to visit my godmother (94), whose Gtech had stopped working. It sounded like a blocked rotator brush, but I could not make her understand how to check this. Sadly, Gtech are not geared up to send out little men to check things like this and suggested that she removed the brush & took out the battery...hardly likely for a lady of 94 with very poor eyesight. I did suggest to the helpful (3rd) person at Gtech that perhaps they might consider having roving engineers to help sort out similar problems sometime in the future, since it seems not one repair shop I contacted would even touch Gtech. (Hmmm...) Personally, I had a very able Mr A, who fixed my Gtech...but he could take it apart, order the parts online & refit. Unfortuntately, my godmother lives a long way away from us, so this is not possible at short notice. In the end, she managed to flag down a neighbour to look at it for her, where it was discovered to be a bent hair pin and once removed all was tickety-boo. A good news story in the end, eh?
Thought for the day:
