Lady Sage Days

New Old Maps

A new set of four maps of my local area. I wanted to add this to my family tree stuff as I thought it might be useful. I'll need to study it in more detail.

It's been a day of deliberations and decisions. I went through the notes my consultant sent to my GP in a letter about my treatment and I bravely looked up what they meant.

The margins were clear. This is the surrounding tissue they take away at the same time as the lump to check they've got it all and there are no cells in the surrounding area. Mine were clear.

There was no Lympho Vascular invasion. There were no cells detected in my lymphatic system or in my bloodstream.

Only one node was affected, all the others were also clear.

It would seem that the only reason chemo has been advised is due to the Oncotype DX score I had of 35 which I was told was in the middle. Not high. The score goes from 0 - 100. The higher the score the more chance of it returning.

Plus it was a Grade 3 (not stage 3 as I once misread and freaked out). It indicates the aggressiveness of the growth.

Yet the consultant told me twice (can't see it written) that it had been caught early despite it going to a lymph node, this only appeared between seeing my GP and seeing the consultant for the first time, so had just appeared in a two week period.

I'm wondering if the professionals are following the score from America and the recommendation from them, almost blindly.
Telling me that the chemo is to mop up rogue cells but everything they checked was clear or got rid of.
I got told it had all been removed.
