Yarn

There was a bitterly cold wind today but cheerful bright sunshine.

This morning we walked the Christmas tree down to the village square where a local arboriculturist was providing a grinder/chipper so people's trees could be turned into green waste. Then we had a walk around the village before returning for lunch.  It feels as if the festive season is well and truly over with all the pretty lights and decorations being taken off of people's houses and out of their gardens.

This afternoon was mainly spent watching knitting tutorials and doing some trial stitches.  Now I need to settle on a simple pattern to use to further test what I have learned.  I made a few mistakes today so I am trying to learn by figuring out how to rectify them, turning to videos where I cannot work out the solutions myself.  I also started to read the recent biography of the photographer Vivian Maier. So far I am really enjoying it.

My blip of of a ball of yarn I bought yesterday.  Its a mix of sheep wool, acrylic and alpaca wool.  The alpaca makes it really soft and ideal for a scarf or some kind of buff that will probably form my next knitting project.

I hope you have all kept warm today and had an enjoyable Sunday.
