The past few years for Katie's birthday, to make it easier to share the occasion with her friends and family in Scarborough, we've had a really special time with at the home of some family members - a little playdate party for her. Today was that occasion. It was a very special time as always. The little monkeys in the top photo are Nathaniel-Katie-Matilda-Oscar. They (and Lilly who is missing) were all teenyweeny babies when we met, at postnatal group. We've all stayed in touch and become dear friends. Today they joined us with a few of our closest family to celebrate the forthcoming birthday!

As has been the way for all of these "do's" so far, we've been very fortunate with the weather. So the children got to tear round the garden. It was fabulous watching the difference between the years - this year, they all were so confident, off exploring, wandering, climbing everything and anything. They had a marvellous time with the play dough and craft activity. They were extremely enthusiastic and determined for pass the parcel. And Katie led the way in teaching them her best Wiggles moves. She almost reduced me to tears doing "Rockabye your bear".

She was so proud of her pretty new dress, and her matching hair bow. She twirled and danced and smiled. And filled my heart with so much joy.
