View from Capelulo
Nice day for a walk up the local mountainsides around Mum’s. Well, some of us walked, and some relied on their high powered mobility scooter... she can go faster than I can walk, especially up a one in four... halfway round the walk this is the view from Capelulo, looking back down to the village and the sea beyond. You might just make out Puffin Island in the Bay.
It would appear that since we last visited the village post office has shut, and when we walked into Penmaenmawr we noted that one is closing come Easter. Her local doctors surgery is going too... services entirely necessary to living a largely solitary and housebound life. I do despair of the government austerity ideologies that cutback and cutback again, because where “they” live it’s all fine...
Still, nice blue sky and sunshine always welcome. Funny old day, really. On this day my young niece died five years ago, the news finding my brother while he was up here. And fifty one years ago, our father died too. Of course, every day has birthday celebrations as well as tragedies. It’s a nice blue sunny day, and we remember them both.
