Sandblasted...
We’ve nipped up to see my Mum in North Wales, but took a chance and popped up to Crosby Beach to see Anthony Gormley’s “Another Place” - an installation of one hundred cast iron statues embedded into the beach and sea, variously standing above or submerged below the shifting tide.
There’s a bit of weather going over Britain today - you may have noticed. The wind was blowing a freezing cold gale coming directly in from the sea, blowing sand and debris into our faces and eyes. Janet couldn’t do much more than wave at me to “bloody come back here, you idiot!” at about the same time that the lifeguard patrol drove over in their Land Rover to tell me something similar...
Apparently they are a bit fed up with dogwalkers who bring their dogs to the beach in these gale force winds, then let them run into the sea, then call the lifeguard patrol to go in and rescue them! I can understand their frustration. They closed the beach as we left.
I’ve kind of forgotten about the Facebook mono challenge... no one has yet commented. life is good. ;-)
