St Abbs
A blustery walk along the headland at St Abbs blew all the festive cobwebs away! Our walks are now carefully chosen to avoid over exercising Mylo, he plods slowly along behind or beside us whilst the young Fin bounds ahead quartering the ground and rounding up his imaginary sheep. Fortunately Fin's recall is very good as I spotted a good sized grey seal pup lying ahead of us on the path. That pup had travelled quite a distance from the rocky shore but there was sense in it being there. The North Sea was coming in big and fierce and with more high winds being forecast this pup was hopefully out of danger. Fin was puzzled by it's presence, Mylo was not in the least interested. We walked swiftly by.
The grey seal population is increasing each year on the Berwickshire coast with pups being born in some pretty rough rocky coves. Last year we found several dead having been thrown up on to rocks in severe weather.
