Christmas

Ella was still asleep at 7.30 when Nathaniel went in to see if Santa had been to her as well. Poor #3 daughter was feeling awful with flu but took then into her bed to watch them open their stockings.

It wasn’t a Bucks Fizz breakfast today as if was just Mr C, the children and me. #2 and co arrived at 10.30 so the children all enjoyed playing together and exchanging presents. Thomas and James had got a Santa and a donkey outfit in the charity shop. Ella got the present she wanted, a Rubix cube. None of us could remember how to do it. I bet it is on UTube which did not e it’s first time around.

#3 was taken home, an£ her husband and children went to his family for lunch. I was organised and got the feast out on time. We had roast Pheasants, stuffing, sausages, bacon, roast potatoes, roast parsnips and carrots, bread sauce, cranberry and orange relish, gravy - oh and to make sprouts marginally acceptable, I fried bacon then added the parboiled sprouts and chestnuts and stir fried it all.

We watched no TV. It rained all day so we were not out either. We played with the boys and read bits of our new books.

Not quite the Christmas we’d anticipated, but the children had fun so here they are.
