Opera House

We had a leisurely breakfast, packed our bags and had a wander. We paid $US 10 to have a look round the opera house which was opulent- the Blip is of the staircase. I’d have lived to have seen a performance bu5 they only had one thing on a month.

We wer3 due to be picked up at 2.30pm for the airport. After waiting 30 mins I made a couple of phone calls. It transpired the driver was delayed due to a couple of traffic accidents and finally picked us up an hour late. Just before he reached the hotel there was an accident with a car backing into a bus in front of the hotel. So we ran up the road to get our transport. The driver decided to go on a pedestrian only road as th3 one way system was now blocked with the back up from the car/bus bash. We were getting stressed about our flight as we knew the traffic out to the airport was heavy and slow. We got caught up in several snarl ups and delayed by a couple of accidents. San Jose just can’t cope with the volume of vehicles, most of which had one person.

We made it for check-in but by then we could not get seats together. In the end the flight was delayed because the crew arrived late - they’d obviously had the same hold ups as we had.

We got away an hour late. It was a stormy, bumpy night.
