A busy day in San Jose

We were off out at 8 am, heading for the Central Market to get coffee. It was freshly ground. We got what our guide recommended as the best. I think I’ll want mine a bit stronger though. I spotted these loofas - it’s a long time since I had one of them!

We had a good look round all the fruit, veg, herbs and medicinal treatments, then went to a book shop. I got a couple of basic English/Spanish books for Ella, who is learning a little bit in after school club and enjoys it.

A demonstration about lack of music education in schools passed up the street so I took some pix from out hotel room window. They were all in a band, and others held placards and banners.

We had a good look round the National Museum which was mainly about the history of Costa Rica. The Civil War of 1948 wasn’t really explained that well so I’m going to have to google it. The entrance to the museum was through an area full of plants and flowers and had different species of butterflies flitting about. We chilled out on the roof terrace reading our books and having a beer when we came back.
