For Mary another school

Another day another school.
This was Mary at 4pm today having arrived after 8am, with temperatures in the thirties. She is amazing even though I'm a bit biased.

The school has a dual day and 2133 students but there are only 26 teachers including the three principals.
The ratio is supposed to be 60 to one, which would give them 38 staff.
Mary's comment was that it's an amazing school. How can you be an amazing teacher with 120 kids in your class. Its superhuman.
To make things worse, these teachers should have been paid at the end of last month but only got paid today, but not all of them.
Looking at schools over the past weeks it looks to me like there is a serious shortage of teachers. But more and more I see a huge improvement in teaching skills and classroom management. Hurray for the teachers in Mzuzu district, I salute you for your supreme dedication.

Tomorrows school has 59 teachers!!!!
