B&W Experiment

Basically I'm just playing a bit with CS5 and a few tutorials. Today I used the skills I learned yesterday on something other than a building. I'm not sure it worked, but after 600 odd blips I think I'm entitled to a few trial shots. I invite critique (but don't just be shitty about it, y'know sugar coat it. I suggest 'you're ace and all that, but that floor is just too dark')

That was a real test of punctuation. I think I may have failed.

I'm settling back into life at Jewson at the moment, looking to juggle my personal life and work life so each section is a success. I'm confident it can be done, I feel energised again at work. I don't need to tell you how the personal stuff is going, read back and see for yourself.

If you can't really be arsed I'll break it down for you: It's good.

I'd like to offer a slightly longer write up today for Grasshopper, who misses my efforts of 12 months (or so) ago. I kinda like someone saying they miss my writing, it's touching. The trouble is I've found it a little difficult to put finger to keyboard in anger recently, because I've reeled in my temper. I don't let things get to me now as much as I used to, and if I do I prefer not to vent my displeasure online. I suppose my bad experiences with posting stuff has made me much more aware of what I write. I find it difficult to be funny and not offensive, perhaps my sense of humour is more limited than I recall.

One Direction - what a bunch of idiots. How can a band use the opening to the classic Clash track 'Should I Say or Should I Go' to their bland pop track? I've grown very bitter recently about the society we live. The Sun newspaper used to be the extent of it, but recently I've been paying attention to much more. I think the Green Day news really sums up my mood.

Back in 1995 I loved 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, kerplunk and Dookie. However recently the release of Uno (coinciding with Billie Joe checking into rehab.... no publicity is bad publicity) has made me question whether even a band that inspired me as a youth have ffectively sold out. Who hasn't? I loved the King Blues and their album 'Get the Girl, Save the World', but by the time Punk and Poetry arrived some signs of corporate friendly compromise had been made.

Even Jonny Rotten advertises butter. What is the world coming to?

Mind you I guess I'm a hypocrite, I still spunk out £40 on the new FIFA when it's effectively the old one in a different box. I suppose the whole subliminal 'be like everyone else' advertising campaign by Tesco is working after all.

You gotta eat McFood, play with Barbie, drink Coca Cola
Don't say anything that marks you as solo
Only use your brain for playing Nintendo,
Consume anything with corporate logo
