Althea

It was the local grocery store, Thrifty's, 40th birthday today.  Althea, our favourite cashier, was giving out pieces of cake and serving coffee or hot apple cider. I didn't have any cake, but I enjoyed the cider.  What a character Althea is!  She has the best laugh ever and is always cheerful and chatty.  I asked her if I could take a shot, and she said she really disliked getting her picture taken, but "For you - okay!"  Even when I told her I was going to post it.  Every store should have an Althea.  She's awesome.
Extra: I edited yesterday's post with the news that Kalyn's volleyball team made the provincials.  The top two teams from the playoffs get berths, and when I edited, the team had won the game to be one of the top two.  They still had a game to play for the Fraser Valley AAA Championships.  They won!  A gruelling game from all accounts - lost the first two sets then pulled through to win the next three, with the final set win at 15-13.  Comeback Kids!  Kalyn was named the MVP.  
When they won the Fraser Valley Championship last year, it was the first time a team, male or female, from this school had won the championship and qualified for volleyball provincials.  Awesome that they did it two years in a row!  Can't wait to go over for the provincials at the end of November.
