A sea of leaves
One of the jobs we used to do in the noviciate was leaf clearing. There seemed like a never-ending supply of leaves at this time of the year and no sooner were they cleared than a fresh batch arrived.
Today's picture is of fallen leaves at an almost industrial level. They've just suddenly dropped from the trees and the park on the way to college is covered in them. The park keepers use blowers and these little clean up trucks, whereas, in the noviciate, we were hard-core and used back-breaking rakes (three afternoons a week). Happy memories!
The visual environment changes a lot when the leaves have gone from the trees. It is a very different sort of beauty and one well-suited to these darker, starker, colder days.
