Diary of an Edinburgher

Goodbye Gill

Gill's last day, and with perfect timing, Archie was just beginning to get used to her and to bring her his toys to play tugging, and leaning his head on her foot.

A relaxing day - I took Archie to the Links with his giant frisbee. I met a woman with two Tibetan Terriers on leads. She shouted to me as they got nearer, 'Is he (Archie) a male? They're on heat'.

Once I’d assured her he wouldn’t be interested, they had a wee sniff around and play. Actually, they were quite interested in him, but he was playing hard to get.

During Gill's time here, we watched quite a few episodes of the series 'Money for Nothing'. It's about people getting unwanted items from recycling centres that folk are throwing out. Several different artisans then set to and 'upcycle' them. It's a great programme.

This is our picnic lunch (we had soup too), by the fire, watching MfN. Gill has a very long journey to Sydney ahead of her, but Business Class must make it slightly more bearable...

PS Happy Birthday Ishbel!
