Diary of an Edinburgher

Autumn walk

Archie is getting used to having our visitor around. But he keeps staring at her. Dead funny. He seems fascinated.

JR and Gill both went to the gym this morning. As my bike has been banished to the cupboard, I didn’t bother, so I took Archie round the block, then assembled a delicious fresh fruit salad for the gymnasts' well earned breakfast.

It was such a lovely day, and Archie, unusually, was not off galavanting with any of his pals (actually, one of them texted, but I said he was busy) so we decided to go for a walk, see some autumn colours, and have food. Yes - Dalkeith Country Park was the best choice.

We did a shorter walk, and part of the big walk, but we'd booked for lunch in the restaurant, and had to turn back. Anyway, it was quite far enough for me.

A nice lunch, too, and the whole place was absolutely mobbed - the restaurant, the cafe, the shops, the wonderful playground. What a great place for a day out!

Back home, fire on, feet up, G&Ts poured. A grand day out, and we're all tired. Archie continued staring at Gill when he wasn’t snoozing.
