Diary of an Edinburgher

What a racket

On this morning's round the block doggie walk, I spied a woman coming towards me carrying a racket. I enquired if indeed she was off to play badminton, where, and were they all, er, older folks... I used to love badminton, when my knees worked. And I see more point in expending effort to chase a shuttlecock than going to a gym.

So, I might contact her and go along next week, just to see if I can manage...

To make up for yesterday's lack of effort, I have been non-stop busy today. Including sitting on my bike - that was work! Mind you, JR has busy days every day...

I painted the front bedroom window, a job I have been meaning to do since I moved the paving slabs ages ago to enable easy access with a ladder. And not a drop of paint reached the glass or indeed my person. Yay!

Rufus came to stay, and the two dogs generally got in the way while I cut the grass for the last time.

Then we took them up the hill in the afternoon. Rufus, with his wee legs, managed fine, though JR did carry him on steep bits. He was fast on the way down!

Exciting day tomorrow. Our pal from Sydney arrives. She's JR's oldest pal, having been at Teachers' Training College together many moons ago.
