Mist on the fells
The mist this morning was wonderfully ethereal and ordinarily I would have featured it in my blip but we were off to the Lakes on a quest.
The quest was to get some damsons for Chris to make spiced damson chutney. Last year he got masses form our friend who had so, many she didn't know what to do with them. This year she has had none.
Off we went to achieve our goal and so we did, albeit getting frozen ones.
As we were so near we went to Blackwell the wonderful Arts and Crafts house run by the Arts Council, above Lake Windermere. I promised to take my friend for her birthday in May but we never got around to it.
It is well worth visiting again as we first went in March here and as I said then it was all thanks to a mention of the place from Snapshot Sam.
This is the view from the terrace in front of the house. You can see there is some mist still hovering over the fells across the lake. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take photographs inside but the ground floor interiors are superb.
