no sailing

Ullswater Trail Race.
The wind got up during the night and we feared the boats to take us across the lake so we could run back would be cancelled again (they were the last 2 years). And we were right, they were - that's why they're in the pic!
However, all was not lost, alternative routes had been worked out and the longer one involved a climb up to Boardale Hause, probably another 1000ft of climbing. It was tough going up but great coming back down - if you were careful. I don't know how much climbing would have been involved on the original route but it would have been in much smaller chunks. Pleased with my time again.
This guy won the shorter race. Yesterday's boats were bobbing around rather a lot more.
Fish and chips for supper but even after the exertions couldn't manage all the huge helping of chips - but Mum has some portions in the freezer.
