To the races!

We all met up at Katie's house in good time for a Bucks Fizz breakfast with Andrew's best waffles and maple syrup. Then into a taxi for the York racecourse!
The stands gradually filled up and we placed a few small bets, then eagerly watched. Katie had a win in the first race!
Gilly's horse managed a place and she won£6.20! Mine all started well and mostly came in last as expected!
Then off to a York cocktail bar for a masterclass with lots of extra shots and drinking games, and a meal. Katie had a great time and was picked several times to make (and drink) extra cocktails, and we had some fun quizzes.
It was lovely to meet her friends and bridesmaids, fortunately in a private upstairs area as downstairs in Gillian's description, resembled the fifth circle of hell with tremendously loud music and a host of drunken demons!
We escaped and weaved our home for a peaceful nights sleep!
