Diary of an Edinburgher

Tired!

I must say, I’ve got into a real routine now of dog walk about 9am, then the gym, then back for my fresh fruit and coconut yoghurt breakfast. I used to have my breakfast first. Then my coffee, then sit around, stalling, especially if it was sunny. But now I don’t even need to reason with myself. And it's so good to get the torture over with.

Today Kerri and Luke came for Archie. They've been away on holiday in Japan, which they loved. They were also keen to hear about our safari holiday.

Archie was quite tired after that walk, because they took the giant frisbee, so he really runs around a lot. In fact, he was so tired, he didn’t even bother to get up to stand at the door and see them out the gate. First time ever!

But he was suddenly wide awake when Elizabeth arrived a few minutes later! They went off for their usual long walk up through the Hermitage and Blackford Hill. (Photo by Elizabeth).

Archie-less, we decided to go into town for lunch. We popped into a wee French cafe that we haven’t been in for years. And what a good choice it was! Wee, cosy, excellent menu - and best of all - quiet, jazzy soundtrack. In fact, if I hadn’t had a rather weak flat white to finish, it would have got top marks.

Archie came back with Elizabeth and he is sooo tired. Though he did manage to get off the sofa to see her off. He's had his tea, and is snoring by my side.

I haven’t told him that he's got two walkies tomorrow as well!
