With mountains like these

Over the border

Rubiaes to Valenca, goodbye Portugal, and then hello to Tui and Spain.

It was another tough day. The cobbles really do make for hard work and blisters. Begging for more uphill, we romped up through the last bit of our Portugal adventure in the fortress of Valenca. The bridge over the river Minho into Spain seemed almost too far as we limped down the steps of the fortress and across. However, a fabulous welcome in our fortified hill top soldier's house, huuuuge tonics with ice (and the rest), foot bathing and refreshed out into the evening, we found these amazing ladies from El Molino. Four generations, women only in the kitchen and every dish spectacularly different from the next, it was a truly memorable meal. I wanted to thank them all personally. Unbelievable food.
