Dig for Happiness!

I spotted a rat hole on the allotment this morning so after doing the chores grabbed my fork and dug it out.They seem to be making shelters not actual runs - or maybe they are doing appraisals and the ground is not to their liking - structurally unsound, too damp, too stoney? Who knows - I'm just happy they are not nesting on the plot! As I had the fork in my hand I decided to dig up the last two trenches of potatoes - not a bad yield considering how long they have been in the ground - these must have been the slug resistant type! Now the ground had been fully turned over I grabbed my trowel and put in  the strawberry plants  that I had been given way back at the start of September! I must be feeling better!
This is the filed that had the straw bales in - now beautiful cows instead! They have got a good view!
