" Mirror, Mirror on the wall..."
Dear Diary,
With Jose playing tricks with our weather, we spent the day in museums. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art was wonderful. There was an exhibit of paintings by Alison Rictor of interiors of Maine public libraries that we just loved. The extra is the reading area of the little library in Blue Hills...typical of Maine rural libraries. There was also a lovely sculpture garden but we didn't tarry long there as the rain was coming down and the winds were gusting to 25 MPH.
At lunch we received our bill...and a surprise. It included a free "wish"! (See the extra) Of course, we wished that Karen's beloved Tree Tops would be spared destruction in Maria. We have learned that the island did not get a direct hit so maybe our wish will be granted.
We then went to the charming Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk and saw an exhibit which had paintings and sculptures by Maine high school students based on fairy tales. I just had to include one in today's post. "Mirror, mirror on the wall who's the best friend of all!" Karen of course!
Finally, we had dinner in Kennebunkport at the aptly named Hurricane Restaurant! Fabulous meal over looking in river and we toasted the end of a wonderful day and the re-emergence of the sun!
