The grand final

Football grand final day, harwks verses the swans. Football was a large part of my life before I had kids, I went every week with my dad as a young girl following the yellow and black. I even got together with Ben through the footy it was kind of the ice breaker between us after a win from the tigers... and a big celebration. After I had the girls there was less time to go, and I guess I kinda lost a bit of interest as players changed, and I was in baby mode.

Today I was actually looking forward to, my girls are finally old enough to semi look after themself, and are less needy giving me a bit more time to enjoy myself and chat with people. As always things are never dull it wasn't long before I spotted a unbeatable thing to blip dad had some how lit them lamb spit on fire and things were well getting very toasty and it gave a new meaning to the term WELL done...how about charcoled more like it. There was a scurry of men to the rescue, and I snapped away through stiffled giggles, as dad pushed it down the stairs in a blaze of fire and fat and Erins dad almost got cooked to a crisp as he was juggling it at the bottom of the stairs, both came away with their arm hairs scorched. The lamb suvrvied and well actually turned out to be the best one to be cooked so far the crunchy bit were yummy.

The girls had so much fun they had a trail of young men to play with who took turns to chase, spin, draw and teach footy to them. It was lovely to see them boding with these young boys who they have gradually got to know over the last few family gatherings ( family on Erins side) who we have now come to know as part of our own.

Swannies win, Jarrod is happy and to celebrate a swan mud cake. To add to the whole footy experiance Johnny smashed the cake into Jarrods face that's what you do of course when you have been drinking from 12. Now who is for a bit of mud cake.
