Zebra crossing (x2)

We know that the chicken crossed the road to get to the other side, the T Rex crossed the road because he hadn't evolved into a chicken yet and the penguin crossed the road just for the halibut. What I want to know is why the zebra crossed the road. At least we know that he did it safely at an appropriate crossing point.
