The cycle track...

This was always my favourite wee bit of the cycle track when I was wee. The wee bridge with the trees behind it and in my day the trees in front of it too...they've opened it up a bit with taking the trees away from the front.

Opened it up more than that too as in my day this wee road system was enclosed in a 12ft fence. You had to pay to use it and if you didn't have a bike you could hire one from the Council man in the shed. Fence and shed all gone now...as are the mini working traffics lights that use to be present at the junctions.

Many a summer holiday afternoon Gill and I would spend at the bikes at Beechwood while Mum chatted with the other Mums.

Grateful for that fun and those memories and grateful that it is still there...the Barmy Army are no strangers to these wee roads either.
