2017 Thursday -- Sunset at 21st Street
After our evening meal, we went out to walk the pups on the sand. The tide was coming in so it made walking very difficult because of the water creeping-in, all the sand that is left to walk on is the soft, very soft. Walking on the wet sand after the tide has receded is much easier. So we walked a short distance on the south beach at 24th Street here in Cayucos on California's Central Coast and then turned to walk back and headed for the public restroom. Then we decided to walk on the street toward 21st Street where there is public access to the coast and a couple of park benches to sit and watch the waves.
It was at the park bench facing north that we sat and watched for 20 or so moments as the sun slipped behind the distant hills. Watching the sun for the last few minutes is always breath-taking. This is one of the daily events of life that we try not to miss. So glad we viewed it today.
We did a zillion other things today too, like stopping at the Farmers Market to get some of Stephanie's delicious soup, going to the ReadyTeller to get cash, stopping at the Dollar Store to get several bargains, and we've cheated some lately and stopped at McDonalds in Morro Bay to get a soft-serve ice cream cone. Mr. Fun's doctor would like for him to not eat any meat, none, and no dairy products. We've done well at this for 2 1/2 years, but occasionally we do cheat. So that is a bit of our Thursday.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
