In Spite of Dews and Wet Grass .....

Definitely a day for a pair of vintage boots " strong and stout in soles and uppers". Found this copy of an 1864 sales poster in one of the books on the history of Clarks' shoes I mentioned yesterday.

Despite having the flat roof of the kitchen replaced last week, the heavy overnight rain managed to seep in and down one wall, so the day has been spent listening to the patter of not-so-tiny workmen's boots on the roof as they sorted it out ("definitely sorted now"!) while I carried on decorating in the dining room.

At least it's stopped raining now and the sun is out - still hope for the weekly golf round tomorrow.
