Shall We Dance?

After my Wilfrid Road blip a fortnight ago, I was chatting to the son of our former neighbours about the history of the village and he told me his family had worked for Clark's for several generations.

Yesterday he came round with some memorabilia he'd unearthed, including this invitation to the firm's 125th Anniversary Dance back in 1950 which his grandparents had attended, together with the rather charming list of dances for the evening. Presumably, as a young "beau", you could pick out your strong dances and select the partner you were going to invite to join you for that one! An interesting reminder of a bygone age.

You may need to "have it large" to see the dances and songs they were danced to.
