Thistledown

I'm always amazed that a plant so jaggy as a thistle produces something so soft a delicate as thistle down.

Even more amazing is the thought that this then blows all over my garden and produces dirty great big jaggy spear aggressive plants.

BUT beggars can't be choosers and in what is seen as a weed in most places we regard as a fabulous colourful plant that we love to have in the garden... purely because, unlike most things, it survives!
