Shrouded monument

The monument behind the shrouds and scaffolding is the Riga Freedom monument, which is rather splendid, judging by the pictures on Wikipedia, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Monument, but is currently undergoing major restoration.

Today, we used the tourist buses to get an idea of where to explore further, then walked past the monument to the Orthodox Cathedral. Extravagantly decorated, but not really my taste.

We also did some people watching, note the little girl in the fountain watching the photo session in extras.

The weather has been really hot, there's thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow.
