Bulldog
Aka Paul.
Paul is a One in A Million guy. When he joined the army his first sergeant major landed him with the name Bulldog, an unkind reference to his good looks. The name stuck as nicknames do. Invalided out with life changing injuries he's been involved in para-sports for decades. We know him through Norwich Lowriders wheelchair basketball and today Jamie was invited to try a hand cycle (see above - note the big smile) and a Freewheel. The latter clips onto a wheelchair footrest and converts it to a three-wheeler, giving much improved off-road performance to the wheelchair.
The Freewheel, tried first, was great and Jamie could see it being used almost daily. The hand cycle however got the biggest smile .... something to do with hitting nearly 20mph with a following wind! Exercise has healing power. Both these devices have the potential to change Jamie's life for the better. Extra pic shows Paul in his full recumbent hand cycle
Big thanks to Paul. Not only a trial run but we brought the cycle home on free loan for the summer. Oh - and yes, Paul does keep a Bulldog :-)
Also BIG thanks to everyone who marked my 1825th Blip yesterday with Hearts, stars and kind comments. Just love this place x
