Composition lighting

Holiday!!!!!! We've packed up, cleared off and hot footed it to the city for a wee holiday. Well, a holiday for me. A seriously busy week for the small one doing all her favouritest things. We travelled down this afternoon after a steady morning getting packed and sorted, music practiced and tidied. We are now safely ensconced in my cousins house.

We had an extremely enjoyable curry and bubbles before Katie and my musician cousin Tom had an absolutely amazing couple of hours music. They did some jazz improvisation on the piano, they worked on a Bach duet, they went up to his music room and began work on "their album". They're composing be first track, katie on the clarinet. Katie declared this set up to be "composition lighting". Tom told me later he's almost certain she has perfect pitch, from how she was hearing the notes she had in her head, singing them and writing them straight down. I couldn't get her to go to bed tonight. It was nearly 10pm! She's so excited to have a whole week here.
