Promtacular

Katie declared today to be "promtacular". She's had a brilliant time. She had a workshop at the Royal College of Music, exploring some of this years "10 Pieces" works. I picked her up early afternoon and the workshop leader took me aside to tell how much Katie has come on and how brilliantly she's doing. She was particularly impressed with the range and standard of the notes she can play. Bs response was that she suspects they may have their eye on her for junior department....

This afternoon we went to the 10 Pieces Prom. It really was absolutely fabulous. The music was a brilliant selection of classical, unusual and a world premiere. The presenter was fantastic, it was creative and interesting, family friendly without being patronising or too dumbed down. We both had a great time.

We got the train back and after a bath, I lost Katie to composing with Tom again before having to drag her to bed. She's an excited little lady to start summer school tomorrow!
