Vive la Vie

A very special day in Victoria, Vancouver Island

Today we helped to celebrate another very special little girl's 10th Birthday.
We started with Birthday pancakes for breakfast. Then we headed to Beacon Hill Park in Victoria where they have a wonderful little farm. Maggie is animal crazy so she led my kids to the goat petting section where they could play with the baby goats. All three were in their element. From there it was onto one of Maggie's favourite cafes for lunch and soft scoop ice-cream. Next stop was the playground which had a small water park. Needless to say, they all got soaked but we were prepared! Then it was down to the beautiful harbour to show us tourists the very lovely Victoria.
Once we were back home and had collected their dog, Penny who is actually pretty adorable, the kids went out to play on the trampoline and try to teach Penny some new tricks, while the Mums decorated the chocolate cupcakes.
Maggie had requested macaroni cheese for dinner and then the neighbourhood kids were invited over for cake. I had brought a sparkler candle (we used one for Olivia's Birthday which had gone down very well) and it went down well here too. Much scoffing of cake and then half an hour of trampoline madness whilst the Dad's sprayed the kids with water! The howls of laughter were infectious, but of course it ended in tears which was inevitable with too much sugar. It was worth it though!

It was so nice being able to share this special day with Magnolia and her family.
