Neuschwanstein - The Fairytale Castle

The Neuschwanstein Castle, located in the Alps in Bavaria, inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom, so we had to visit! It was truly stunning and as none of my photos did it justice the above blip is a photo I took of photos in a tourist souvenir shop at the bottom of the hill - genius!

As it was a blistering hot day we decided to treat the kids to a horse and carriage ride up the hill to the castle (well, it was a fairytale place!). We had to queue for a while but it was worth it as we were lucky enough to sit up at the front with the 'driver.' Unfortunately we had two very naughty horses who farted their way up the hill and we had a direct view of their bums! The kids found this absolutely hilarious and roared with laughter all the way up the hill - this may possibly have been one of their highlights of the trip! Needless to say, we walked back down!

This has been another amazing day on this holiday and sadly tomorrow is our last full day, but we have one more huge surprise for the kids!
