White Buddleia

Buddleia is sometimes called "der Sommerflieder" or "summer lilac" here.  It's usually, well, lilac in colour.  However, there is a white variant which is also pretty (but somewhat lacking in Flutterbyes).

It was all kinds of way-too-hot today.  This afternoon was stupidly hot - over 31°C in the office and the fans were like low-powered hairdryers.  Enormous quantities of water were consumed, and I spent the time writing wiki entries and adding to our Department-Blog.  That was a lot less stressful than yesterday's Scheiße.

I still get my written German proof-read before I publish anything.  I have a tendency to write very much like as I speak and sometimes the tone isn't quite Strictly Business German*.  Plus I've never been happy with reflexive verbs and will find ways to formulate sentences without them, but they can be much more eloquently expressed with them.  So I was really pleased when my texts when entire paragraphs were given the OK and changes were actually pretty minimal.

*Could be the worst Saturday night telly programme of all time.  Although probably still better than Shafted.
