Diary of an Edinburgher

Archie enjoys a dip

JR has spent much of the day, after her executive housekeeping job, filling in the 20 page visa application form for South Africa. She has also to provide photocopies of this and that, including three months' bank statements, a reference from a former employer, and from Nicola Sturgeon.

OK, I may have lied about a couple of things, but you'd think they didn't want any visitors. Kiwis, along with Somalians and Kosovans need a visa for SA.

It was such a lovely day that we took Archie to Braidburn, via the garage. We had to check the tyre pressure again, as an alert keeps popping up. Air used to be free, but no longer. What a faff.

Archie had a great time in the park - he loves jumping in and out of the burn. At one point he just stood in the middle, quite deep, and showed no sign of coming out. He doesn't look his best when he does come out of the stream, because his legs are skinny when wet, which makes him look like a wee plump pig. But he soon dries off as he charges around. Then he goes in again. And he found a tennis ball, which he kept bringing back until he lost it in the long grass.

We had a wee sit out in the sun in the back garden when we came home.

I missed the tennis today...
