Diary of an Edinburgher

Hospital Day Seven!!

Day 7... This is getting tedious... but I just have to be a patient patient. Can't rush things to do with my blood.

My day brightened considerably when lunch arrived - a roast pork dinner with all the some trimmings.

My wee Helium-Voiced pal has been non stop accosting every single person passing by - it's just reassurance she needs, and many, though not all, of the staff are very good at responding to her needs with patience and charm. She greets staff she hasn't seen for ages with such enthusiasm, she's quite endearing. She remembers all their names. She knows all the proper names for the pills she takes, and what they're all for. Which is more than I do.

I sat with her this morning because they were cleaning my floor. I asked her if she'd like to see a photo of my dog. Bingo! Her wee face lit up. And so we went through a few photos of Archie on my iPad (I do have rather a lot) and she chuckled and said he was gorgeous. Then I showed her how to play Solitaire. One game took rather a long time, and it must have seemed like rocket science to her, the squeals of delight and utter amazement each move elicited. She was in awe of my prowess, probably thinking I was some sort of computer wizard, and I did not disabuse her of this notion.

My downloaded box sets from All 4 have all expired! They were all only usable for 7 days, which is not a lot of use to folk trapped in hospital for longer than anticipated. And I won't be out tomorrow. Wonder if it's worth getting JR to download some on her iPad and bringing it in...

Unable to look at blips or comment - my data plan on my phone is minimal, so I can't use it much at all. But thanks for popping in and offering words of encouragement.
