Down To The Woods Today
I came across this on an estate agent's website - it has been there for some time, presumably it's still on the market. Cavers House. Yours for £300,000 or so.
We went for a look. It took a bit of finding. It's not just swallowed up by the surrounding trees, they are growing inside the shell.
The original building dates from the 13th century, but it had been rebuilt and altered many times, and in 1885 it was totally remodelled in "the Scottish Baronial style", only to be partially demolished and unroofed in the 1950s. I wonder what the story behind that is? The extra shows the size and state of the interior.
I don't think we're putting in an offer.
Other than as a contribution to Dereliction Sunday.
