Don't Panic!

..... It's only a pre-season friendly; the football season proper doesn't start until the beginning of August.

This afternoon's first home friendly was against local rivals Bristol City, managed by our former player, Lee Johnson, son of our former manager, Gary.

As always there were a number of new signings in our squad and a host of triallists, looking for a club and hoping to earn a contract with us. We lost 3-1 but played quite well in the second half against a team two leagues above us; always difficult to know how good a team we are going to be until we start playing against sides in the same league as us.

We had a straightforward journey back from holiday, although poor little Sophie wanted it all to last longer and didn't want to come home.
