No Takers

I did everything but lay out fluffy towels and I still couldn't lure a single bird in for a bath. It was a gorgeous warm day today and I thought for sure the bird bath would look tempting to someone besides me, especially since I just cleaned it and filled it with fresh water. I sat in the house at the table by the window, camera at the ready, just waiting to catch that perfect moment when a little birdie, or two or three, came diving in for a dip. I waited, and I waited and I waited. I balanced my checkbook, I talked on the phone, I read a book -- nothing, no bird showed up. Well, I'm not easily discouraged and summer's not quite over so all I need now is a bird who's willing to pose for a blip, hopefully before the bird bath freezes over. After that, it's harder to find one who likes to ice skate.
