Feed a cold
A damaging old adage, that likely has no basis in scientific reasoning, is 'feed a cold, starve a fever'. When I've got a cold and so when it's difficult to be active, I fall upon junk food like a man possessed. Because of my busy travel schedule it's relatively difficult anyway to have a disciplined approach to food, and routine disappears completely when under the weather. This week has seen multiple trips to buy over-indulgent picnic lunches and less than zero restraint for office cake and biscuits. I can feel the waistline expanding.
This isn't an offensively gluttonous image but it was a pre-work breakfast with Jez that marked the start of a long day of gorging. It ended with a quiche at 10pm.
