Midnight bathing

One of the must-dos of Iceland is the Blue Lagoon. If you don't just suck it up and commit to extortionate prices you'd stay in your accommodation listening to ABBA and eating rye bread. We spent the evening relaxing at the lagoon with silica mud masks on our faces, feeling rejuvenated, driving an hour back to where we stayed on the deserted midnight roads while it was still light.

Extras: Gulfoss Waterfall looking like a piece of marshmallow cheesecake in the Icelandic countryside; the original geyser after which other geysers were named, about to soak bystanders with its sulphurous spurts; and just more awesome landscapes.
