Scirocco

After the storm the lively wind is blowing from the WSW. It is delightful and sends the doors crashing shut every now and then.

One of the lifeguards at Catiglioncello - who winters in Bali along with surfer dudes from Cornwall amongst others - reckoned the Tirrenean Sea's surf would be up tomorrow. Apparently the little town has 15 different surf spots and its own version of surf rage as locals duke it out with Livornese and Fiorentini.

It looks like this is a brief respite with the heat building back up into the low-mid thirties in the next few days.

Outside in the vineyard fields straw-hatted labourers - many of them from Peru - are hacking away at the stoney soil with Italian hoes - zappe. What a tough job that is.

I've added an extra which I shall call, 'Clouds dancing to the music of time'. Such clarity in the Tuscan air after the rain.
