POND LIFE

There's always something to see and make me smile in the local park. This didn't make me smile because of the ducklings further out in the pond, but he/she/it was quite imposing.
The smiley bit was among the shrub beds when I got involved in butterfly flights and fights. At one time there were 5 or 6 Red Admirals spiralling up and down in pairs (extra), and zooming after each other up and down the apparently disputed patch of grass and plants. I was standing in the middle and they were landing on my hair and my hands, quite oblivious, and then going off to chase each other again. I was on my own and couldn't get a selfie with butterflies, but there's another extra of one getting its breath back on a leaf beside me. It made my day!
